Cooling Fan Upgrade

Install the LT Snyder Desmo Times Cooling Fan mod on the ST4s (2002 year model)


1.Prepare the Bike • Remove fairings: lowers, upper, chin, and both sides
2.Prepare radiator • Remove upper radiator mounting bolts (left and right sides)
3.Lower radiator and remove fan assembly • Free radiator from upper and lower supports • Wiggle and allow radiator to descend about 1-2 inches
4.Remove fan assembly • Remove the three bolts that attach fan assembly to the radiator • Disconnect the electrical connector
5.Prepare new fan • Remove bolt attaching plastic fan blade to fan motor • Take note of the fan direction (twist of blades) • Installed and when viewed as seated on the bike, the fan rotates counterclockwise • Match direction of new metal blade with plastic fan as it was installed (The metal blade I received was incorrectly labeled) • Use original nut and supplied washer • From bottom to top, fan motor, fan, washer, then nut.
6.Install Fan Assembly • Bolt fan assembly back on to radiator • Reposition radiator • Re-bolt radiator to frame supports as in step 2. • Re-install fairings and your are finished!
